Anna: Stellenbosch, Western Province, South Africa; I'm an animal artist. In particular horses, dogs and cats. I work on a commission basis most of the time, it is one of my favourite things to capture the character of someone's much-loved animal friend in one of my drawings or paintings. I work in several media, in particular in oils and chalks and pencils. I would like to think that I take a lot of my inspiration from George Stubbs' work, but the truth is I've been influenced by a great many artists, teachers and lecturers; much of it has been trial and error; a lot of duds; and a good deal of messing around. In the end though: I love my subjects, and I enjoy the work I do.
